Plans for the year

So, I promised to keep a continual blog, so I would update it weekly, and, well, that failed, didn't it!

Unfortunately life happens and so much goes on, you forget things, and considering I just started blogging, I did sort of forget about it! Please forgive me.

So, what's new? I'm sure you're asking.

So, only the other day I found out I got a new job that I wanted. I actually cried on the phone, but all was well as I actually knew her, considering I work in the same place already. So I'm moving to another department and will be there for the whole summer. Well, from March until then end of October. So excited for this change, it's made me so happy.

I also have a week in August booked off so I shall be going to Edinburgh for the Fringe. I went last year and it was absolutely incredible, I can't wait to go again this year. Last year, we only went for 4 days, so we woke up ridiculously early in the morning to get there and stayed as late as we could before heading back. We watched a stupid amount of performances during that short time so we're hoping to watch the same amount this time but spread it out so we're not falling asleep during the less active performances and not needing to rush from venue to venue, because, believe me, that is what happened. We had to leave Stephen K Amos' performance to get to Shit Faced Shakespeare in time, and they were at the opposite end of the city. We ran!

Going to see Once The Musical next week, Pentatonix next month, Idina Menzel in June and Ed Sheeran in July. So as you can see, there is so much to look forward to, and I hope to blog about it all to let you know what I think and how it was. I even think I may vlog my Edinburgh trip. I think it would be interesting for people interested in going to visit, to see what it's like, and the atmosphere. The atmosphere is crazy during the Fringe, I've only been to Scotland a few times when I was a lot younger so don't remember anything, but I can tell you that Edinburgh is a beautiful city and the Fringe is electric. I haven't done any sort of vlogging before so thought it would be the perfect time to start. We'll see.

Life

There is so much in life, but what is it?

Do you work to live, or live to work? There are so many unanswered questions, and no one to answer them, no one but you.

You, do you enjoy your job, is it something you see yourself doing forever, do you get decent pay so you stay there anyway? These are questions that constantly go through my head. What do I want to do as a career, I don't even know. What are my hobbies, and would I make a hobby part of my every day life?

I have many hobbies, one of which is singing, I love to sing. I started singing classes 8 years ago. Something that I wanted to do, not just to better my voice, but to gain confidence. It's one of those things that open you up and make you create a song by the way you sing it. Well, I mainly fo musical theatre, hence the performance of the song. But would I do this as a career? No, it's not something for me, I love it, but just as a hobby. I wish I was a better singer, but I can only try.

Another hobby, paper crafting. As you can tell, I'm more on the creative side, and I guess it makes sense that I would like to go and do sonethingb creative with my career, but as yet, being a 24 year old in London, there is so much I could possibly do, and yet my head is filled with so many possibilities and yet I'm still not doing anything with them.

The job I am doing right now, is definitely not a career ambition of mine, and I hope to get out of it reasonably soon and find something that I can use my creative outlet in.

But think about it yourself, does your job drive you and keep you focused on the many years to come. Don't settle if you're not happy. There's so much out there, you just need to chase it.

New Year's 2015

"What is your New Year's resolution?"

New Years always seem to bring the question about how your going to change this year and make yourself a better version, to adapt some part of your lifestyle with bullet points of what you want to do differently and stick to it for the year. People put a lot of pressure into these straight forward questions, to make a massive change in their life. And if you plan to stick to your New Year's Resolutions, then of course, you're going to want to think carefully. I've decided to add things to my life, but I don't want to use the term 'New Year's Resolution', as I think it's not original. Instead, I'm going to just list a few of the things I want to change.

  • Start to blog parts of my life. (I think it's something I can look back and remember; a diary type, but online.)
  • Really think about what career path I want to go down. (It sounds like a boring adult thing to do, but I can't stay where I am right now.)
  • Filming more of the things that I do. (I take a ton of photos, but videos are something you can see in action, the sounds, the area, the virtual memories.)

The start of 2015, let's see where life takes us from here. I'm looking forward to updating this page and seeing what has happened throughout the year. I have some exciting things coming up and I look forward to writing about them. Hoping to do it weekly, as long as I have time and patience.

The very first photo I took of 2015, let's see what the last will be!

In the year of 2012...

... Well, we always say how a year goes by so fast, but when you stop and remember all of what you have accomplished, it seems a whole lot longer. "Did I really do that this year?"
We all know that it has been a great year for Britain with The Queen's 60th Jubilee and the Olympics so I wanted to share a few things that I have done this year. A lot of things I have done is spend time with friends and family so I won't be repetitive and it won't be packed with plenty of detail, it will just be a highlight of a few of my favourite things of the year .

I have a friend who is obsessed with Harry Potter, quite literally, she loves everything to do with it. When I was shopping in Harrods one day, I went into what can only be described as Harry Potter land, it was quite literally like a setting of the film. It turns out that it had certain costumes and props that were used in Harry Potter. Amazing for an Potter freak, so seeing this, I took my friend there and didn't let her know the reason for why I was directing her on a certain route without letting her see any signs. It didn't even fix into her head what it was until we were standing right in the middle. She had a freak and snapped away at everything. These items were only there for a few months until being taken back to the studio to be shown in the Harry Potter tour.
I go to singing lessons, which I have been doing many a years, but at the beginning of the year, I started going to the pub after lesson with a few people that go to the same school. I became better friends with a girl called Louise, you should check out her YouTube channel, she hasn't posted for ages but she has the most amazing voice, just click HERE.

I went to my first EVER wedding, and it happened to be a good friend of mine's wedding! I am such an emotional person, so from the moment I sat down in Church to watch my lovely friend walk down the aisle, I couldn't help but weep into my tissue. It was stunning, I can't use any other word, she looked truly amazing and I am so happy for the couple. Having all eyes on you can be such a daunting experience and although she sings and is able to perform on stage, she can be quite nervous and she was dreading walking down the aisle with everyone fixated on her, but I am so proud of her and am so blessed to have been there for her special day.

Then there comes a time when you have to get away for a little bit. I've been wanting to go to Salzburg for years, I mean, I went a couple of times when I was much much younger, but having 'The Sound of Music' as your favourite film and seeing the absolutely beautiful setting, I had to go again, and with my Mum, and passport in check, we took aboard our flight and headed to Vienna. You're probably wondering why I said Vienna, well Mum wanted to go only to Vienna but I was adamant about going to Salzburg so we flew to Vienna, got a train to Salzburg, stayed there for six nights then headed back to Vienna for two nights and flew back to London.
The time I spent in Vienna was amazing, we made sure we spent our time wisely. We got a Salzburg card which you can seem most of the attractions once. For 40 euros, for three days, we got to visit a hell of a lot. I won't bore you with everything but the highlights of the attractions from within the Salzburg Card we visited Hohensalzburg Fortress, Untersburg Mountain, Hellbrunn Palace, Mozart's Birthplace, Mozart's Residence... the list goes on.
As well as that, we went on two Panorama Tours, one of which was, of course, the original 'The Sound of Music' tour and the other going to Hitler's Eage Nest and the Salt Mines which including going into the Bavarian Mountains and visiting a little town called 'Konigssee'.
I feel like I might have to make a post entirely dedicated to my time in Austria because there is a lot to say and I took a ridiculous amount of photos.
Vienna was nice but I don't feel as though I got to see enough to be able to say whether I like it or not. But I would recommend going to Salzburg if you like 'The Sound of Music' at all or love mountains, because trust me, you can't miss them.
I could put more photos up, but I think I should probably leave it for this post. I think you understand how stunning Salzburg is.

In the summer, I got to see some friends that I haven't seen for a while, and this included my theatre school friends. It was lovely to spend a day with them and catch up on everything you miss when you don't see friends often.

I have recently become a bit of a Tudor history geek and really gotten into all things Henry VIII. So when the opportunity to go to Hever Castle came about, I couldn't say no. It is Anne Boleyn's childhood home, and if you don't know who that is, well, you should know. It's one of Henry's wives. Probably the most famous of six. The Castle was beautiful, if you get the opportunity to go, I would advise to go. A lovely sunny day would be the best as the Castle is centred in a stunning Garden, which is the main reason people go, with an Italian Renaissance inspired Garden, a couple of mazes and many other interesting sights.

In November, I was so desperate to get away, and the fact that my Mum and I both had Friday to Sunday off one weekend, I was determined for us to get away, so that is what we did. We didn't strive too far going to Lille, North France. It was a lovely little City with not too much to do than shop, so we just took in the atmosphere. It was a lovely couple of days and calming as opposed to earlier in the year doing everything we could do in Salzburg. My favourite restaurant we went to was actually for lunch on the day we were leaving, we weren't too sure whether we wanted to go there but there nothing else took our fancy so we ended up going there and so pleased that we did. It was a restaurant specialising in Mussels. I'm not a big fan of mussels but I could tell that they were something special and enjoyed them, I ate every single last one. It also happens to be a family business run since 1930... there's a little fact for you.

For anyone that know London well, during the Winter/Christmas period, in Hyde Park, they have a mini theme park/Christmas market which is awesome. This year was the first year I got to go. Whether or not you want to go on the rides or buy anything, it's such an amazing atmosphere to be in, it gets the festive feeling started, and if you don't feel festive before you go, you sure will by the time you're on your way out.

So there we have it, a year in the life of me. Those are just a few of the lovely things I've been up to this year. Bring on 2013.
Thank you for reading, stay safe and hope to speak soon

48 Questions Tag

So as I'm new, I thought I'd do a Tag because I love reading them and hope someone will enjoy reading mine.

1. What time did you get up this morning?  I woke up at 7, so pretty average waking time for someone who goes to work, although I don't actually have work today. Well my manager did ask me to be on stand by in case someone couldn't come in but luckily I didn't have to because I really didn't want to.
2. How do you like your steak? Well done, although I am trying to change that so I can get away with having a medium, I just don't like the thought of eating raw meat in the form of a thick steak.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? I actually can't remember, it was quite a while ago, I don't even remember who I went with, the last film I remember seeing in the cinema was 'The Help' but I know I have seen another film since then, I'm sure I've seen a few since then.
4. What is your favorite TV show?  Oooh, that's a hard one, I'm a sucker for shows like 'The Only Way Is Essex' and 'Made In Chelsea' and because MIC is currently on, I will have to say that one as I would go on what show I cannot miss, so I love watching that, and I loved 'Girlfri3nds' but I also love Sitcoms such as 'The Big Bang Theory' and 'How I Met Your Mother'.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I'm quite happy with where I am living right now. So I would probably say here, or somewhere in Japan as that is where the majority of my family are, but I'd need to seriously increase my Japanese vocabulary before going there, because I am awful.
6. What did you have for breakfast? A baguette thing, not quite a breakfast type of meal haha :)
7. What is your favorite food? That's a hard question because there is so much to choose from, I mean you'd have to go down into categories and places, but I do love Japanese food, and I'm currently loving homemade quacamole and also, my favourite soup is carrot and coriander, so yeah, I couldn't just pick one but my favourite type is Japanese.
8. Foods you dislike? There isn't a lot of food I dislike, I'm quite open, but there is something about melon that I just don't like. I mean, I would probably like it after eating it more and more because I've been like that with pineapple and olives but I love them now, I also don't like avocado, even though I love guacamole, I think it's just the texture with the flavour. Also, cooked tomato and any type of pineapple apart from fresh pineapple.
9. Favorite place to eat?  Ooh, a Japanese restaurant in London called Taro, or the classic Nandos or Pizza Express.
10. Favorite dressing? For a salad? Well it used to be French dressing but now it's sesame dressing which I guess is Japanese style.
11. What kind of vehicle do you drive? I don't drive, I just don't feel the need to yet because I am such a walker and public transport is doing it for me :)
12. What are your favorite clothes?  I don't have any favourite clothes, is that really bad? When I'm home, its straight into my PJs but I just dress how I feel, I like to dress up but then sometimes, especially in Winter, it's nice to be snug in a hoodie.
13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?  New York.
14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?  Always full, it's always best to think on the more positive side.
15. Where would you want to retire?  I think I have a while to think of that one yet.
16. Favorite time of day?  Hmm... I'm more a night time person, just depends on what season and where in the World, I like to walk around London at night with a friend, I feel so safe.
17. Where were you born?  In Kent.
18. What is your favorite sport to watch?  I don't really watch sport but when I'm at the gym, there is nearly always football on so I guess football.

22. People watcher?  Love to people watch, find it so fascinating, and you can do it anywhere, in any country.
23. Are you a morning or night person? I'm not really a morning person, I can be quite grumpy which is hard to believe to some people, and I always tend to get really creative at night.
24. Do you have any pets? No pets :(
25. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share? I wish I could say something completely fascinating, but there is just nothing, wow, I need to get more interesting.
26. What did you want to be when you were little? I have wanted to be so much, always changing, I've wanted to be an author, then a teacher, then an agent, and an actress, and a singer... the list goes on.
27. What is your favorite memory?  I couldn't have just one, but a good one was when I first sang a solo on stage, that was a buzz, I wouldn't say it was a favourite, but it's a good one.
28. Are you a cat or dog person?  Always a dog person, I mean, just look at them, they are like a child, they are always there. Don't get me wrong, cats are lovely, but they go off on there own and I just have always loved dogs more.
29. Are you married?  No, not yet, give it time ;)
30. Always wear your seat belt?  I'm hardly in a car, but yeah, I do.
31. Been in a car accident?  Not in this lifetime :)
32. Any pet peeves?  Oh, so many, where do I begin, people that moan 24/7, people that always talk about themselves and never ask about you, people that chew loudly when eating... there are a lot I just can't think right now.
33. Favorite pizza toppings?  I love goats cheese and caramelised onions so probably that, but if not, something spicy, I love a good bit of spice in my life.

46. What is your favorite color? Pink and Green.
47. How many tattoos do you have?  I don't have any, but I don't think I want one, if I did, it would have to be meaningful.
48. Coffee drinker? I do like to drink coffee, but it wouldn't be a plain coffee, it would have to be latte, or a Starbucks coffee, I don't like the taste of plain coffee quite yet, hopefully one day, I'm slowly easing my way in, very slowly.
